The duration of the body corporate management contract is statutorily limited to a maximum of three years. See Chapter 6 Part 2 Section 118 of the Standard Module. Subsection (3) contains an unworkable provision that prohibits a person acting again as a body corporate manager at the end of the agreement, without a new engagement. This leaves bodies corporate who have not finalised the appointment of a body corporate manager at the expiry of their current agreement in the impossible position of being without administrative services for even the most routine operational task. For instance the body corporate manager would neither be able to pay bills nor to receive contribution payments.
