Contributions levied upon a lot attach to the lot, and not the individual who owns the lot. Unpaid contributions may be recovered by selling the relevant lot. It is consequently essential new owners ensure all unpaid amounts owed to the body corporate by the previous owner are paid at settlement of the purchase.
