Feral animal control (RABBITS!!)
Is there any legislation regarding the control of feral animals (immediate problem is rabbits) on a strata title? I would like to know whether it is each individual owner's responsibility, or whether the Owner's Corporation is responsible. Does it make any difference if it's an Over 55's complex? The lot has a private garden/lawn area, and the rabbits are causing subsidence - it is becoming a serious safety issue. Greg.

Hi Greg,
That depends on a couple of things. If the rabbits are in the whole complex and causing damage to Common property then yes it is Strata. If it is your lot only then at this time it will fall on you, until it effects more than one person. Your best bet, call council if they are coming from council land areas. They are required to respond as they are a registered pest. Good luck... a good rabbit is a dead rabbit.. Vannessa
